We will lead all generations into a transforming relationship with Jesus, and build a supportive, loving community where everyone can flourish. Below you will find many of the projects that are close to our hearts, but one that we would like to highlight as part of our service is our Meet the Needs Ministry. Founded by our members in 2016, Meet the Needs has taken on a variety of projects including extensive rehabbing of a member’s mobile home, rototilling a member’s garden, mowing lawns, sealing leaking skylights and cleaning up yards with as many as 20 members participating.

Additionally, SAPC members volunteer monthly at the New London Soup Kitchen serving meals. Our youth and adults participate in summer Group Work Camp International. We host and volunteer for Red Cross blood drives. We provide space for Al-Anon and Alateen meetings. We work closely with Groton Human Services providing food for the food bank, backpacks filled with school supplies for children, and support Adopt-A-Family at Christmas, providing gifts and gift cards to families and children. We collect and deliver a wide variety of needed items for the New London Homeless Hospitality Center. We collect and deliver magazines to convalescent homes and medical clinics. We have served as Salvation Army bellringers. In the past, we have traveled to Guatemala for mission work with a school there. Our Deacons serve in a variety of ways, including offering rides to members and providing meals to members in need. Our Mission Committee is active in supporting a variety of projects each year. You can find even more information under the Ministries tab.
Make yourself at home
We are a traditional, but forward-thinking congregation in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Our members are active in creating and participating in programs that cultivate spiritual growth, outreach, and service to the community. If you are looking for a church home in the Southeast corner of Connecticut, we hope you will pay us a visit. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our community.
